Worst Days to Deliver Amazon Flex Packages
Today is Saturday and Day 8 of working 30 straight days delivering packages for Amazon Flex during its peak holiday season. My goal is to earn at least $6,000 in the next 30 days working exclusively for Amazon Flex.
Saturdays are one of the hardest days of the week to catch a block because all of the 9 to 5-ers are out hustling on Saturdays. And these full-time W2 workers will also take blocks at base rate. Never letting the rate surges to even a mediocre surge.
However, I was able to snag a block the night before, with a decent surge. Though, this isn’t always the case. Whatever surges usually surface on Saturdays are highly sought after and very competitive. Which is why I usually don’t deliver for Amazon Flex on Saturdays.
I started my day really early in the morning, taking a 3:30am block for $126. I was hoping to get a late morning block as well. But I couldn’t snag anything worth my time. So, I had to settle for a $78, 3-hour block that started at 2:45pm.
And I usually avoid 2-4pm blocks AT ALL COSTS! Because these blocks typically are routed to Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs. And to Philadelphia I went. For the second time in two days during the same pickup window.
Surprisingly, weekends can sometimes be challenging for delivering Amazon Flex blocks. Many people are at home during the weekend, so they ordered items for their weekend plans or relaxation. This increased demand can lead to a higher volume of packages to be delivered, making it more difficult to complete your deliveries within your block time.
Other busy days to possibly avoid are: Mondays or Tuesdays after holidays, busy weekends, prime days, and adverse weather conditions can contribute to a smoother and more successful Flex experience.
